What Are You Learning About Yourself Right Now?

What Are You Learning About Yourself Right Now?

What are you learning about yourself right now?

I'm learning how NOT in control I am. That I need to be continually returning to my faith to put me into a peaceful, loving space. I recognize that I have needed this lesson and I am grateful for it.

I'm learning to embrace myself ... who I TRULY am, not who others have taught me I should be. I am having so much fun with this! I've been letting my "inner hippie" have influence in my decorating and I'm giddy as I watch my hubby grow a ponytail! He's having fun, too!

I'm learning when I focus on what's wrong in life, I'm going to find it every time. I COMMIT to finding the GOOD! I am focusing on what is going WELL!

And TODAY I'm making a Ta-Da list! As opposed to a To-Do list. Instead of seeing everything I DID NOT accomplish at the end of the day. I'm going to see the GOOD things I DID ACCOMPLISH!

So, I'll ask you again. What are you learning?

Finding Comfort in Routines

Finding Comfort in Routines

Do you have a daily routine you follow? Are you more of a schedule person? Would you rather fly by the seat of your pants?

I find great comfort in my daily routines. I have a pretty strict morning routine to launch my day and put me in a good emotional space. This morning foundation has been key in helping us be consistent with our homeschool studies. I am always tweaking and refining it to make it better for the season we're in.

Children naturally find comfort in routines. They LOVE to know what’s coming next! It also reduces the amount of mental energy that’s required to figure out what needs to be done at any given time. It helps to form good habits.

I have afternoon and evening routines that I find help life go more smoothly, too. These involve laundry, getting dinner on the table, and having clean dishes.

What does your day look like?  What could you implement to make the day run more smoothly?

My Journey from the Pharmacy to a Natural Lifestyle

When I began my career as a pharmacist, I was dedicated to helping my family and others stay healthy, but as I continued in my profession, I came to realize that my image of “staying healthy” was beginning to change dramatically.  My eyes were opened to things like bacterial resistance and how everyday products like soap, makeup, and personal care items could actually be harmful.  As my knowledge for a truly healthy lifestyle caught up with my passion, I realized I had to make changes.  I needed to reduce our exposure as much as possible.

What started with eliminating obvious harsh chemicals transformed to things like making my own bread, mixing my own laundry detergent and making soap the old-fashioned way – with lye. It was a complete lifestyle change for my family. This worked great…for a while. Even with the help of my husband and children, I simply could not keep up. I could not make enough of all the things that I felt we needed. Furthermore, our young son was beginning to suffer from severe behavioral issues causing elevated activity, emotional meltdowns, and social issues. I was a very tired and stressed out mama. I just couldn’t do it all any longer!

Things began to turn around when I read a blog post from a respected friend that informed about natural ways to address the challenges that mattered to me. Initially we were drawn only to ways to help our son, but then solutions to all of the things I had been struggling with became apparent over time.

It has been a journey, nearly a decade now. We didn’t do it all at once. The door has been opened to easily provide my family with safe options we all love to support our wellness. And although the landscape has changed, my passion for helping people has only grown. I want everyone to know they have a choice!  There is another way.  We’ve helped empower hundreds of families to bring safe and natural products into their homes. What started off as a lifestyle change for my family has blessed us in more ways than we ever dreamed!
